ESF Innovation and Transnationality
The call for proposals for ESFi Innovation and Transnationality closed on 4pm on Friday 16 January 2009. Applications received from the North West were as follows:
Big Lottery Fund Research Programme
The Big Lottery Fund will provide up to £20 million to fund social, medical or socio-medical research led by voluntary and community sector (VCSi) organisations in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Research programme aims to influence local and national policy and practice by funding VCS organisations to produce and disseminate evidence-based knowledge.
Package of Support Measures Open to Third Sector Businesses
The government has announced a support package to build upon the commitments outlined in November’s Pre Budget Report. The support package aims to help companies struggling to access finance for working capital and investment.
Timely Information to Citizens
In July 2008 Communities and Local Government launched Communities in Control: Real People, Real Power, which set out the case for improving citizens' access to, and use of, information on local services and performance, to empower them to hold local service providers to account.
