This event is being held at the BT Convention Centre, Liverpool on 8-9 June 2009. The Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) is holding the Northwest Research Conference to communicate the findings of recent projects funded by the RIU and partners in addition to providing guidance on regional and local data produced by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The Directorate-General for Regional Policy has recently produced a series of factsheets on European Cohesion Policy by Member State.

Current Cohesion Policy programmes cover the period 2007-13, however the debate on post-2013 cohesion policy is already under way. Representatives of member states, regions and cities, members of the European parliament, the committee of the regions of the EU and the European economic and social committee, and all interested citizens are invited to take part in the debate.

Nominations have opened for the 2009 Compact Awards, the annual awards which demonstrate the Compact in action and recognise and celebrate excellent partnership working.
