ESF Community Learning Grants - Round 7 Launched

Mon, 27/10/2014

ESFi Community Learning Grants are to fund activities and courses supporting individuals who are out of work, helping them to access employment or further learning and training.

You can apply for these grants if you are from a constituted community and voluntary group, registered charity or social enterprise that already plays an important role at grass roots level, providing intensive support to those individuals that are most disadvantaged in the labour market. 158 groups in the North West region have already received £2 million of ESF funding over four previous grant rounds in 2012-13, and 199 more in two rounds so far in 2014.

Application Process: In order to streamline the application process and save you time completing a whole application that might be ineligible, they have created a simple online pre-application assessment. If you are eligible, this then lets you download a simplified application form. (A sample copy of the form, together with guidance notes, is on the How To Apply page of our website.)
The closing date for Merseyside applications in Round 7 will be 12 noon on Monday 27th October 2014

There will now be two closing dates for Round 7 for the rest of the North West (Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Halton and Lancashire only) – 12 noon on Monday 27th October and an extra, fast track closing date of 12 noon on Monday 22nd September 2014.

This extra date is for work in Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Halton and Lancashire only (not Merseyside) and would allow successful applicants to get a quicker decision and be able to start running projects sooner, i.e. end of October, rather than waiting until next January to start. In both areas, funded projects will need to finish by the end of May 2015.
