Free management support in the North West

Thu, 31/01/2008

The Cranfield Trust, which provides free management consultancy to voluntary and community organisations, recently appointed a Project Manager for the North West. Based in Cheshire, Lara Strickland is working with the Trust's regional network of volunteer consultants from the commercial sector, supporting them in giving their time and skills to voluntary groups.  Lara says: "Many of the projects we are starting with groups revolve around contracts or preparing for new tenders. We have a number of volunteers helping client groups review their costs, and improve their negotiating skills. Another popular area of work is supporting feasibility studies for new income generation activities. Human resources, marketing and business and strategic planning are always strong areas of work for the Trust, and we are asked for a growing number of volunteers to facilitate merger or partnership discussions as well as away days. I look forward to working with many voluntary organisations across the North West over the next few months."
