Future European Funds - July 2013
Over forty Voluntary and Community sector organisations across the North West came together at an event organised by Network for Europe in conjunction with Liverpool LEP in Liverpool on 4 July 2013 to look at the European funds in the new programming period.
Sue Baxter from BIS (the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills) who is leading the negotiations on the new programme set the framework and updated organisations on how the programme is shaping up and looked at next steps.
James Ritchie from DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) did a presentation on the European Social Fund, the thematic objectives for the new programme and investment priorities, setting the challenges and delivery issues in the next programming period.
Sarah Carling from DCLG did a presentation on the European Regional Development fund outlining investment priorities and future structures.
The day continued with a presentation from Liverpool LEP, where Paul Dixon gave a comprehensive overview of how the sector is represented and feeds in to the LEP.
Network for Europe closed the day with a presentation that brought together what are the opportunities for the voluntary and communty sector in the 2014-2020 programming period and how organisations can feed into the process.
