Land Deal Sealed for Chorley Employment Zone
Moves to create up to 2,500 jobs in a new 40ha employment zone in southern Lancashire have been boosted by the agreement of a £1.3m land deal. The deal, involving the purchase of more than 8ha of the former Royal Ordinance Factory site at Buckshaw Village, is the first stage in developing Chorley’s strategic regional site. The site is one of 25 identified in the North West Development Agency’s regional economic strategy as having development characteristics that are fundamental to the economic growth of the region. An agency grant has enabled Chorley Council to buy the site from BAE Systems and prepare it for use.
