Media Trust - Community Voices
Media Trust has opened up a range of new grants worth a total of £250,000 as part of its Community Voices project, which aims to inspire, engage and support disadvantaged and isolated communities to get their voices heard through digital media.
The grant application process is open for isolated and disadvantaged communities in England. Applicants do not have to have an official status as an organisation, however they could be an organisation (for example a charity, housing association or local authority) applying in partnership with, or on behalf of, a community of people. So that Media Trust can ensure the grants go to community-led projects, organisations need to be able to demonstrate that they have the backing of the community for the project they put forward. Projects have to be fully engaged with the communities they aim to benefit. The application process will run until 28 February 2010. All community projects will be selected by 31 March 2010, and will run until March 2011. For further information please visit: Media Trust
