NLDC - Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities Fund in Cumbria

NLDC fund exists to support innovative learning activities for over 19 year olds in areas of deprivation - both geographical areas and communities of need or interest. Partnership working and progression routes for learners are encouraged. A significant proportion of the fund will be allocated to inviting voluntary & community sector (VCSi) organisations to develop projects that will engage “hard to reach” learners and contribute to partnership activities in areas of Cumbria with low participation & achievement. The fund is available to encourage joint working between VCS organisations & large training providers, like FE colleges, to ensure that there are recognisable learning progression routes in place for new learners. The funding, however, would be directed to the VCS group engaging with the new learners rather than the colleges.
