Practical Project Management

This two day course will be held at the YHA Potato Wharf, Castlefield, Manchester M3 4NB.
The aim is to give delegates an introduction to and understanding of project management terminology, and a working knowledge of the project management discipline. Delegates will go away with practical examples and working plans to apply back in their workplaces. The course is suitable for those working in small to medium sized organisations (SMEs) in both the public and private sector who are relatively new to the formal discipline of project management and those who wish to have recognised frameworks for their current methodology. By the end of this course, participants should be better able to:
 

  • Understand the nature, some of the jargon and purpose of project management
  • Define project aims and objectives
  • Understand project timetabling and practical planning
  • Understand risk management principles and practice
  • Implement some project management techniques
