Sustainable Neighbourhoods Partnership Forum re Local Development Framework

Date:
Mon, 26/11/2007

This event will be held on 26 November 2007 at Friends Meeting House, 6 Mount Street, City Centre, Manchester, M2 5NS.
The council is preparing the Local Development Framework (LDF) for Manchester, which will be of interest to all members as it is will replace the Unitary Development Plan which guides future development. It is seen as the spatial representation of the community strategy, The Manchester Way.

The Core Strategy, the key document in the LDF, is the first to be developed. Preparation of the Issues and Options stage of the Core Strategy is underway, and as part of this, we are to hold the Forum in order to discuss the proposed framework and the issues arising. The issues are the Built Environment, Environment, Housing, Economy and Transport and the wider cross cutting issues including Health, Crime, Education and Culture. The forum will focus on the issues most relevant to the Sustainable Neighbourhoods Partnership.  Formal consultation on the LDF will begin on 4 December 2007 to ensure people across the city are informed and involved. Informal consultation began in October 2007 and this is a chance to have your say at this early stage.

During the consultation, all information will be on the environment and planning section of the council website, and people are encouraged to participate.

All attendees will be sent further information nearer the date of the Forum. To express an interest in attending please E-Mail: c.mcdermott1@manchester.gov.uk with your name and organisation. Please copy in: voluntaryyouthmanchester@googlemail.com to ensure that you receive all the papers.
